Over 100 Years Reimagined.
Carn is Team Elevate®'s restoration and contemporary addition to a century-old Edwardian home in Ivanhoe.
With more than 100 years of history behind it, this home called for an approach that respected its origins while creating a new experience for modern family living.
Over 12 months, the original Edwardian residence was carefully brought back to life while a contemporary addition introduced the space, light and functionality needed for the home's next chapter.
The result is a considered meeting of two eras. The character of the original residence remains part of the home's identity, while the addition creates a confident transition into contemporary living.
After more than a century, Carn is ready for its owners to create a new generation of memories and, most importantly, call it home.
Where Old Meets New.
Carn demonstrates how a period home can evolve without losing the architecture, character and history that made it worth preserving in the first place.
Respecting the Past.
Building for What Comes Next.
The existing Edwardian residence formed the foundation of the project. Rather than removing the character that made the property unique, the restoration focused on bringing its architectural identity back to life.
From there, the home transitions into a contemporary addition designed around modern family living. The new work does not attempt to imitate the original Edwardian architecture. Instead, the two eras are allowed to sit confidently alongside one another.
It is this relationship between restoration and addition that defines Carn — retaining more than a century of history while introducing the space and functionality required for another generation.
Master Builders Victoria State Finalist.
Project Carn was named a State Finalist in the Master Builders Victoria Excellence in Housing Awards 2026.
As a young team, being in the mix with some of the best builders in Victoria is something Team Elevate® is incredibly proud of.
The recognition reflects the work behind every stage of Carn — from restoring the original Edwardian residence through to delivering its contemporary addition and bringing the complete architectural vision together.
Thank you to our team, project partners, suppliers and designers for the endless effort that went into bringing Carn back to life.
